A court here Wednesday sentenced two brothers to life term imprisonment for killing a man in Kalandpur village under Panchbibi upazila of the district in 2005.
Additional District and Sessions Judge-second court, judge Md. Abbas Uddin pronounced the verdict.
The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each.
The convicts are - Md. Anisur Rahman, 44, and Md. Nazrul Islam,48, sons of Ofir Uddin of Kalandpur village of the upazila.
According to the case details, Abdul Quddus fell down on the ground after being hit by the stick of the accused following a family dispute on November 20, 2005 around 7:30. He died on the spot.
On November 21, 2005 Lutfar Rahman, the victim's elder brother, filed a murder case at Panchbibi Police Station.
Police submitted the charge sheet against them in the court.
After examining the record and witnesses, the court found them guilty.
Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Nripendranath Mondal confirmed the matter.
