Two arrested in van driver murder case

Police arrested two youths in connection wi killing of a van driver at Singra upazila in Natore and recovered the snatched vehicle. However, another accused was not arrested till filing of this report.  

The arrestees are Ripon Hossain, son of Akkas Ali of Hatiandaha area under Singra upazila, and Dulal Pramanik, son of Shukkur Pramanik of the same area. 

Police Super of Natore Kumar Sahar informed the matter at a press conference at his office on Saturday. He said that police are trying to arrest another accused—Mamun. 

Van driver Bidyut Sarkar, 28, son of Nirmal Sarkar of Mathgram under Lalor union at the upazila, was killed on October 20 night. Police recovered the body from Gunaikhara area of Hatiandah on October 21 morning. 

Police and locals said that Bidyut Sarkar came out of the house in an auto van on October 20 evening. As he did not return later in the night, the family members searched for him but did not find him. Locals informed the police after seeing his body at Gunaikhara area on October 21 morning.

Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the spot. 

Police said that Ripon, Dulal and Mamun hired the van with the motive of snatching and later they snatched the van after killing the driver at about 8:00 pm on that day. The stolen van was recovered from a shop at Gokul area under Natore Sadar upazila.
