Major reshuffle in Police

Two Addl IGP, five Addl DIG, 48 SPs transferred

The Home Ministry on Sunday made a major reshuffle in Bangladesh Police, transferring some 55 top officials to different places.

Four separate notifications in this regard were issued from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.

The notifications stated that two additional IGPs, five additional DIGs, and 48 officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police have been transferred simultaneously.

Deputy Secretary Md Mahabur Rahman Sheikh signed the notification by the order of the President. The notification said that this order issued in the public interest would be effective immediately. It is reported that Police Telecom

Rajarbagh Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police AKM Shahidur Rahman was transferred to the Police Directorate, Dhaka as Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP).

Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Md. Shakhawat Hossain, attached to Police Department, was transferred to Tourist Police as Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Police Academy Sardar Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Md. Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan was transferred to the Police Anti-Terrorism Unit. 

On the other hand, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Anti-Terrorism Unit Md. Asad Ullah Chowdhury  was transferred to the Naval Police.
