Turkish Karabuk University rector meets DU VC

Rector of Karabuk University of Turkey Professor Dr Refik Polat called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday at latter’s office of the university.

International Relations Coordinator of the same university Lecturer Oya Onalan, Professor Dr AI Mustofa of Daffodil International University and Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest especially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes between Dhaka University and Karabuk University of Turkey. They apprised each other the history and academic programs of their respective university in brief. They agreed in principle to sign a MoU between the two universities very soon.

Rector of Karabuk University said, Bangladesh economy is growing fast as the people of Bangladesh are working hard. He expressed his willingness to establish collaborative academic programs with DU and offered scholarship programmes for DU students. He extended an invitation to DU VC to pay a visit to Karabuk University.

Accepting the invitation DU VC said, friendly relations have been prevailing between the two brotherly Muslim countries for long time. He laid emphasis on exchange of faculties, researchers and students between these two public universities.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman thanked Professor Refik Polat for his visit to and keen interest in establishing joint academic collaboration with DU.
