An elderly woman was killed while a truck run over at Bariura area of Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Safia Khatun, 60, wife of late Abdul Wadud, hailed from Airol village under Naogaon union of the upazila.
According to locals, the old woman was crossing the highway at the Bariura area of the highway. She died on the spot when a truck runs over her. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khatihata Highway Police Station, Mainul Islam, said the driver fled away the scene while the killer truck was seized.
