In honor of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, one of India's theatre troupe ‘Anik’ organised the Ganga Jamuna Theatre Festival at Tapan Theater in Calcutta with seven theatrical productions of Bangladesh. The festival will begin from February 26 and continue till March 1.
‘Tringsho Shatapdi’ is going to be staged on the second day of the festival by Shopnodal.
ahid Ripon has directed the anti-war drama ‘Tringsho Shatabdi’ on the adaptation of Badol Sarker.
Tringsho Shatabdi, a play against the madness of war, depicted the after-effects of the atomic explosion of Hiroshima-Nagasaki, one of the darkest chapters of humanity, and intertwined with the genocide during Bangladesh’s Liberation War and other global turmoils as well.
Parallel to this is the introduction of the Bangladesh War of Liberation, the invasion of Bosnia-Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan-India, Iraq, the brutal attacks on Kuwait-Tunisia-Yemen-Syria-Turkey-Myanmar-Gulshan, the New Zealand mosque and the Sri Lankan attacks, and Sri Lanka. Various topics like Rifat killings in Barguna have been portrayed.
The actors of the ‘Tringsho Shatabdi’ production are Juena Shabnam, Fazle Rabbi Sukorn, Samad Bhuiyan, Shishi Sikder, Sumaiya Akhter, Shakhawat Shyaml, Sonali Rahman, Ork Apu, Amar Sarkar and Zahid Ripon.
