Tribute paid to journo Anisur Rahman

The first death anniversary of Satkhira's brave journalism pioneer Md. Anisur Rahim was observed with due respect and love on Wednesday.

On this occasion, various programmes were arranged including paying tribute to the portrait of the deceased’. The journalists visited his grave and offered Fateha there. They also displayed documentary images, distributed blankets among the needy, organized a discussion and prayer programmes.

The programme started at 10 am on Wednesday through paying homage to the portrait of Anisur Rahim set up on the premises of Ashraf Bhavan, Munjitpur of Satkhira town. Retired Principal Prof Abdul Hamid, retired Principal Freedom Fighter Prof Abul Waheed, Convener of Satkhira District Civic Committee Adv Azad Hossain Belal and Member Secretary Adv Abul Kalam Azad, Joint Member Secretary Ali Noor Khan Bablu, Editor of Dainik Patraduot Laila Parveen Senjuti, Former General Secretary of Satkhira Press Club M Kamruzzaman, District Jasdar President Obaidus Sultan Bablu, District Communist Party President Abul Hossain, BAS Coordinator Nityanand Sarkar, General of District Shilpakala Academy Editor Mosfiqur Rahman Milton, Sheikh Ahsanur Rahman Rajib of Satkhira journalist center, former PP Ad. Osman Gani, General Secretary of MSF Adv. Monir Uddin, human rights activist Madhav Chandra Dutt, general secretary of Zilla Mahila Parishad women leader Jetsna Dutt, member secretary of Nature and Life Club Abdus Samad, law student forum Salauddin, labor leader Rabiul Islam, Kazi Mohabbat Hossain and others attended the programme. Later, a documentary on Anisur Rahim was exhibited at Satkhira Pre-Cadet School. Anisur Rahim's wife Satkhira Government Women's College retired principal Prof Dr. Dilara Begum, Prof Abdul Hamid, Satkhira Pre-Cadet School Vice Principal Chanda Raha, Parent Abdus Samad and student Sarika Saini took part in the discussion. 

After the discussion, the prayer programme was conducted by the principal of Satkhira Pre-Cadet School, Retired Joint Secretary Ahmedor Rahim.

Later, school students, teachers and leaders of various organisations went to the city's Kamalnagar government cemetery and visited the deceased's grave.
