Taimur confident of winning poll race

As the polling day nears the contestants have become more serious than the previous time and are busy campaigning for votes in favour of their own symbols.

Awami League candidate Golam Dostogir Gazi, independent candidate Shajahan Bhuiyan and Trinamul BNP candidate Taimur Alam Khandakar moving door to door to convice the voters to vote for them.

A rebel of Awami League Shajahan Bhuiyan who is general secretary of Rupganj unit Awami League resigned from Rupganj upazila chairman post for contesting the as independent candidate has a personal vote bank.

Tinamul BNP candidate Taimur Alam Khandakar is taking advantage as two of his rival candidates are Awami League men, so his desire to win the election race is very clear. Because, the Awami League will split but in that case, Taimur hopes he will get the maximum votes and he will avail the opportunity of becoming successful. So, he is hopeful of becoming MP in his 

Incidents of violene began in Rupganj area.

Golam Dostogir Gazi who has been nominated by Awami League expressing his desire in the campaign that he will win the race without hard contest because he developed his area in his last tenure as law maker of this constituency. He termed his nearest rival Shajahan Bhuiyan land terrorists’ representative. Shajahan bhuiyan raised the same allegation against Gazi. He said, Gazi being an industrialist forcibly occupied people’s land during his tenure. So, the people will vote for him. 

Under the circumstances, the people of Rupganj apprehend that violence might be ensued on the polling day as two candidates are man of Awami League and the other is if Trinamul BNP. The law and order agencies have already expressed their opinion that polling centres in some remote areas might be vulnerable on the polling day due to weak communication.
