Tri-nation Poetry Fest starts in Ishwardi

A three-day tri-nation Poetry Festival started at the auditorium of Sugar Crop Research Institute of Ishwardi under Pabna district on Friday. 

Poets from Bangladesh, India and Nepal are attending the festival, organised by the literary-cultural organization 'Nongor'

The festival was inaugurated by the Nuruzzaman Biswas who was the chief guest of the function and also the local Member of Parliament (Pabna-4). The welcome speeches were delivered by Professor Hasanuzzaman, Co-ordinator of the festival titled Nongor, the Juvenile Literarture writer Promomod Prodhan of Nepal and the article writer, Poet Manik Pandit of West Bengal of India. Lutfar Rahman Punjab, President of 'Nongor', chaired the event.

The second phase of the festival, titled 'Recitation of self-composed poems,' poet, article writer Professor Akhter Hossain and Literary Critic 

of West Bengal, India Atanu Kumar Basu addressed as the guests of honour while poet, essayist Murad Malitha addressed the inaugural speech. Professor Shahida Khaun chaired the session.

The third session of the function was chaired by educationist Delowar Hossain where Professor Dr Sheikh Rajikul Islam of Khukna University delivered his speech as the chief guest.

Bijoy Raj Acharaya from Kathmandu, Nepal, Cultural Personality Professor Uday Nath Lahiri and Engineer Shahidul Islam addressed as the guests of honour. Mostaque Ahmed Kiron, President of Ishwardi Press Club delivered the welcome speech at the function. 

Later, at the cultural function dramatist Sayakam Bagchi from West Bengal, India, delivered the welcome speech where singers from the country and abroad served their songs. The functions were operated by Ataur Rahman Bablu, Shammi Akhter Smiriti, Nure Jannat and Oheduzzaman Tipu.

Earlier on Friday evening a 'Nongor' Gossip was organised in presence with the poets of India, Nepal and Bangladesh where Literary-Cultural Personality of West Bengal Pubali Deb attended the Chief guest and Juvenile Literateur, Researcher of Kathmandu, Nepal Promod Prodhan addressed as the guest of honours. Vice President of Ishwardi Press Club Mahbubul Haque Dudu conducted the function.
