Road transport owners and workers have vowed not to ply their vehicles on the road without legal papers. They pledge to follow the recently passed 'Road Transport Act 2018'.
The pledge was made at a meeting of proper traffic management at the CMP conference room of Dampara Police Lines on Tuesday.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Mahbubur Rahman presided over the meeting with the road transport owners and worker leaders to discuss on proper traffic management issues.
At the meeting, transport owners and workers pledged that they would not drive without license, registration and fitness from now on. Leaders express their own views on maintaining traffic discipline in the city.
The Commissioner of Police expressed that the Metropolitan Police along with the road transport owners and worker leaders would maintain the traffic chain in the city properly.
Additional police commissioner (administration and finance) Ameena Begum, additional police commissioner SM Mostak Ahmed Khan, road transport owners and other workers were present in the occasion at that time.
