Transport leaders for establishing terminal and training school in Ctg

Chattogram city does not have a specific truck terminal.  Due to which the car has to be kept on the road.  It causes traffic jams.  Also, a school to train drivers is yet to be established.  A good driver requires advanced training.  General Secretary of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation Chattogram Oli Ahmed has demanded to have an emergency terminal and training school to reduce road accidents.

 He made these demands at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of BRTA 'Safe Road Day' at Chattogram Circuit House on Saturday morning.

 Additional Superintendent of Police of Chattogram Highway Police Md. Farhad said that a country develops on communication system.  The communication system of our country is also improving.  But not only advanced.  A driver, a common pedestrian on the road must obey the law at the same time.  Drivers should refrain from driving continuously for ten to eleven hours.

  Chattogram District Additional District Magistrate Mosammad Sumani Akhter said, we all depend on roads.  Because everyone from officers to the lower classes came out to earn a living on the road.  A safe road to return home needs to be built first.  Therefore, the transport workers, the public should be aware.  Don't just blame the transport drivers.  Pedestrians have a role to make roads safer. Drivers should seriously consider driving for 10-12 hours straight.  He also suggested changing drivers after a 6-hour drive.

 She said, for the pedestrians, we carried out various operations in the city to remove illegal structures on the footpaths.  But then the day set up again.  For that, local representatives should come forward.

 BRTA Chattogram Division Assistant Director Raihana Akhter Urthi presided over the meeting.  Pradeep Kumar, Pintu Chakma, transport leaders and workers and many others were present in the meeting.
