Training on diary production, management held in Jhenaidah

The daylong training of producers’ groups (PG) of the department of livestock was held in Jhenaidah on Wednesday organised by Shailkupa Upazila Livestock Department and Upazila Veterinary Hospital, the 13th training titled Diary Production and Management was held under Livestock and Diary Development Project (LDDP) at Kamanna school para in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah. 

Upazila livestock officer Dr. Manum Khan facilitated the training session where 69 participants of two PG groups had participated. At least 50 percent of the participants belongs to women community.

Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) Dr. Manum Khan during the training said the participants will play role to improve the health and hygiene condition of the animals using least but improved fodder including the mixed foods made locally. Total mixed ration (TMR) and Feed Formulation (FF)m will reduce the fodder cost and help provide more milk and meat by the animals which will directly benefit the farmers to change their socio-economic state partially. 

Describing the positive role of the women’s community in nursing the diary sector, ULO Dr. Abdullah Al Manum said they have a lot of contribution as they directly take care of the animals at home and procuring milk. The mothers should take more responsibility to make the diary a profitable and improve the health condition of each and every member of a farmers’ family consuming fresh milk everyday they have been producing themselves.

Livestock service providers (LSP) BM Milon Hossain and Mehedi Hasan assisted the training course.
