Training, cash assistance provided to repatriated migrant workers

In Faridpur, under the initiative of Caritas Bangladesh, Barisal region, migrant workers who have returned home from abroad have been provided with certificates and cash assistance after training for various duration under the rehabilitation support projects.

Bishop of The Barisal Catholic Diocese Emmanuel Kanan Rosario attended as the chief guest at Raghunandanpur Caritas Faridpur office on Tuesday afternoon and handed over checks and certificates to the workers. Regional Director of Caritas Barisal region Mr. President of Faridpur TTC, Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Assistant Director of Youth Development Department Md. Sarowar Morshed, Manager of Pravasi Kalyan Bank Faridpur Mahmuda Sultana, Ward No. 2 Councilor of Faridpur Municipality Md. Kuddusur Rahman, Shanti Rani Catholic Mission, Faridpur parish priest Father Barun Gomez. The meeting was conducted by Samrat Serao, Program Officer, Caritas Barisal Region. Md Shafiqul Islam Imon, Field Officer, Caritas Faridpur.

Under the project Reintegration Support for Returnee Migrant Workers 50 beneficiaries were given financial grant and certificate of Tk 3000 after short-term training on livestock, poultry husbandry and vaccination. 

Some 10 male beneficiaries were provided long term training in driving, livestock-poultry rearing, electrical trade youth development and TTC and were given Tk 7000 to five persons and Tk12,000 to five persons and certificates respectively.
