“Gono Jagoroner Oitihyabahi Natya Utsab” a traditional folk theatre festival, organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), is being held across the country.
The festival has already received a huge response at the marginal level in different parts of the country. Theaudience are enjoying the rural ‘Pala’ (a traditional form of play) in the backyard at night.
Besides the districts, the festival was held in Shilpakala Academy in the capital on Tuesday. Protiva Palatia from Dinajpur staged “Palatia: Apple Matajir Purna Kutum” at the Experimental Theater Hall of the academy on the day.
The theatre fest was also held in different districts on Wednesday. The modern Alkap group in Chapainawabganj performed the paly “Alkap”. Patuakhali district’s Payra drama group staged “Kashem Malar Prem” while Narsingdi district group Gazir Pot Gayandol performed “Gazir Pot”. Lalmonirhat’s Bhaibhai Padmapuraan group performed “Lakhindar Er Bibaho”, Habiganj’s Chunarughat Dhamali group staged “Dhamali Kotha” and Munshiganj district Shilpakala Academy’s Nazrul Islam Boyatiand his team staged “Guru Shishya” in their respective districts.
Besides, the fest was held in Khulna, Gaibandha, Satkhira and Khagrachari districts on the day.
