Traditional bull cart race still delights Chuadanga people

Aman season is over. The village fields is now empty after harvesting the paddy. There are many bullock carts running together. The area is covered with dust due to the impact of cow's hoof. It was a competition that was told by the decoration of the cows pulled in front of the cart. Thousands of people stood on both sides of the field and enjoyed the bullock cart race. A scene seen throughout the day on Tuesday in Subolpur village of Jibannagar Upazila of Chuadanga. The youth of Subolpur village organized the bullock cart race, which was almost lost in the violence of Akash culture and the evolution of time. This competition is organized to preserve the lost tradition and present it to the new generation. From men and women of rural Bengal to children and old people enjoy seeing this. Many people came not only from Chuadanga but also from surrounding districts to enjoy this extinct competition.

It is the first such arrangement in Subolpur village. Cars from neighboring Jessore, Magura, Narail and Jhenaidah come to participate in this competition. The competition was held in several stages with a total of 19 bullock carts. Before the start of the game at 10 o'clock in the morning, the spectators gathered on both sides of the designated field. The competition was inaugurated by the Mayor of Jibannagar. Rafiqul Islam. Prizes are distributed among the winners at the end of the game.

Shariful Islam, the driver of Jhenaidah district, won the first place in the competition. He received a Khasi goat as a reward. Garidal Walid Hossain of Baghar Para of Jashore district won the second place. He got a sheep. And Tamim Hossain of Jashore Sadar Upazila, the third place holder, received a mobile phone as a prize.

Jibannagar Municipal Councilor Sheikh Zainal Abedin, Abul Kashem, Apil Mahmud, Mahfuza Parveen Beauty, Women Councilor of Reserved Ward were present as guests in the opening and closing phase of the competition.

The organizing authorities said that this event has been organized to keep the youth away from various crimes including drugs and terrorism as well as entertainment.
