A businessman named died after being bitten by bumblebees at Ishwardi in Pabna. The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam (42). He died at the Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday morning. He was the owner of Rice Mill and a prominent rice trader.
Neighbour Wasim Uddin said the businessman Monirul had been living in the barn of his own house for a long time. Last Sunday morning, Monirul himself went to demolish the beehive's house tied to the barn.
There was no protective clothing on his body. As a result, soon after the house was broken into, several bumblebees bit different parts of Monirul's body. At first he fell ill. After fainting due to poisoning, Monirul was brought to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex and admitted.
Wasim added that he was brought home on Monday afternoon when he recovered after treatment. At night he fell ill again.
When his condition deteriorated, Monirul was again admitted to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex. He died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment there.
