A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Mazharul Islam Shakil alias Shakil Mazhar, 35, an alleged close aide of fugitive top-terror Zeesan Ahmed, on three-day remand in an arms case, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order as police produced the accused before court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case. A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 detained Shakil from capital’s Mohammadpur area on February 22 and recovered two foreign-made pistols, two magazines and six bullets from his possession. Later RAB-2 inspector filed the arms case against Shakil with Mohammadpur Police Station.
