To build an enlightened nation, we need enlightened people: Emran Saleh Prince

BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince has said that building an enlightened nation requires enlightened individuals. “Degrees or high exam scores alone are not enough. Only when education is combined with humanity, religion, and cultural values can we truly create enlightened people and a prosperous nation,” he remarked.

He made these comments on Sunday while addressing a reception programme for students who achieved GPA-5 in the 2025 SSC and equivalent examinations, held at the Ishwarganj Zila Parishad auditorium in Mymensingh. The event was organised by the Majed Babu Foundation, where students were awarded crests, books, and scholarships.

The event was presided over by Engineer Lutful Haque Majed Babu, the Foundation’s founder and convenor of Ishwarganj Upazila BNP. The keynote speaker was Dr. Syed Hasibul Hasan Chowdhury, a professor at BRAC University. Also present were local political leaders, heads of educational institutions, and many of the district's top-performing students.

Emran Saleh Prince likened the students to stars in a galaxy of light and expressed hope that they would become leading figures of the country in the future. He congratulated all the achievers and urged them to become assets for not just Ishwarganj but for the entire nation.

He also encouraged students to remain politically aware, patriotic, and inspired by the ideals of 1971 and 2024. “Politics is at the core of everything,” he stated. “Generation Z must not be apolitical; rather, they must be conscious and active.”

Criticising past corruption and repression carried out in the name of politics, Prince emphasised the need for restoring politics as a platform for service and patriotism. “It’s now time to take politics in a positive, people-centred direction,” he concluded.
