Tk 33 lakh ‘robbed’ in broad daylight

Muggers at broad-daylight snatched away Tk. 33 lakh from one employee of Vivo Mobile Phone company from Aloka Crossing area under Boalia police station of Rajshahi on Thursday noon. 

However, by watching the video footage of the Close Circuit camera, police presumed the incident to be pre-planned and fabricated. 

Ranjon Roy, Proprietor of Vivo showroom informed, some businessmen jointly operate the show-room. 

Two employees of Vivo procured Taka 37 lakh 37 thousand in two bags and came out from there to deposit those to the .bank. On the way, two muggers on a motor-bike came close to them and went away by snatching a bag containing Taka 33 lakh. 

The motor-bike riders came from Shaheb Bazar area and went towards New Market by snatching away the bag. Being informed, police visited the spot. 

Nibran Chandra Barman, Officer-in-charge of Boalia Police station informed, he has watched the footage of the CC camera and the way the muggers snatched the money from the Vivo showroom employee seems preplanned and fabricated. 

However, he was the incident is under investigation and legal action will be taken in this connection.
