Tk 130cr development projects implemented at Sonatala in 5 yrs

During the last 5 years of the present government, development work worth Tk. 130 crore has been done in Jorgachha Union No. 4 of Sonatala Upazila of Bogura. The chairman of UP has done development work worth around Tk 130 crore through the efforts of late MP Abdul Mannan.

The first eye-catching development work has been done in that union after independence. The last election of Jorgachha union of Sonatala upazila of Bogra was held on March 30, 2016. In that election, Rostam Ali, vice-president of Upazila Awami League, was elected chairman by a huge vote. Then on August 3, 2016, he took charge.

Development works include carpeting of 7 Union roads at a cost of Taka 20 crore, construction of 4-storey academic buildings in 6 institutions at a cost of Taka 20 crore, construction of two shelter projects at a cost of Taka 12 crore, river management at 3 points of Bangali river at a cost of Taka 33 crore.

Permanent measures to prevent river erosion on the banks of the Bengali river at a cost of Tk 4 crore, construction of 12 culverts at a cost of Tk 8 lakh, installation of more than 100 road lights at a cost of Tk 1.5 crore, relocation of 80 families at a cost of Tk 1.5 crore Construction of houses at a total cost of Tk 41 lakh, construction of houses as per the promise of the Prime Minister at a cost of Tk 36 lakh.

Union chairman Rostam Ali Mandal said work worth about Tk 130 crore has been completed in his union in the last five years since independence. Which is eye-catching. These development works have been completed with the sincere efforts of the late MP Abdul Mannan.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Ziaur Rahman said the work of filling all the unpaved roads in Jorgachha Union of Sonatala as well as carpeting is in the final stage.
