Tk 12 lakh realised in fine in a month

Narail traffic police has collected fine of Tk 12 lakh 45 thousand 250 from various vehicles and deposited it in the government treasury in the last one month. The discipline of the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) has returned as the traffic police has imposed strictures on the implementation of the Road Transport Act-2018, sources said. 

Narail district Traffic Police office sources said, the number of road accidents has come down due to restore of discipline in the RHD. The people traveling on the roads and highways are able to travel freely.

In March this year, traffic police imposed a fine of Tk 12 lakh 45 thousand 250 on various vehicles under the Road Transport Act-2018 and deposited it in the government treasury. In addition, it has been possible to bring untested motorcycles under license through BRTA. Police sources said that the law and order situation has improved as well as the fixed fee of untested motorcycle licenses has been deposited in the government treasury.

Narail District Traffic Police Inspector (Traffic Inspector) Ananda Chandra Roy said that drivers of buses, trucks, private cars, Lories, covered vans, motorcycles and other vehicles without driving license, vehicle registration, lack of fitness, reckless driving, reckless driving or driving in the opposite direction, driving with a conductor or helper without a driver, causing traffic jams or obstructions by stopping cars everywhere on the road, driving under the influence of drugs, driving a car that pollutes the environment, talking on a mobile phone while driving, driver's seatbelt not fastened, driver or conductor behaving rudely or harassing passengers, not reporting the accident to the police station or the police, the person who fell in the accident was not taken to the hospital, drive on the sidewalk, three persons riding a motorcycle and not wearing helmet, the traffic police collects fines in various categories and deposits it in the government treasury. 

The traffic inspector said that it was possible to collect the maximum amount of fine in a month March this year as the traffic police took strict role in the implementation of the Road Transport Act-2018 under the direction of the Superintendent of Police Prabir Kumar Roy. 

Narail Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabir Kumar Roy PPM told that it is the responsibility and duty of the police department to improve law and order including the safety of human life and property and implement Road Transport Act-2018 to restore order in the road department. He said the role of the police would continue to maintain law and order in all parts of the district, curb crime and maintain order to drive vehicles in the roads.
