A mobile court has sentenced three person 15 days imprisonment for illegally extracting sand near Major Khaled Mosharraf Bir Uttam Bridge in Islampur, Jamalpur. Also, a Mahindra truck was seized and 45 pipes of two dredgers were destroyed. Assistant Commissioner (Land), Acting Magistrate Roknuzzaman Khan conducted the raid at Saturday night. Executive Magistrate Roknuzzaman Khan conducted the surprise operation in the upazila.
The mobile court also arrested Khokon Mia of South Dharmakura village, Obaidullah, of Noarpara village and Rokon Mia of Goalerchar union.They were also sent to jail overnight.
Also 15 service pipes for illegal sand extraction with dredger were destroyed in Chardadna area of Gaibandha union and 30 service pipes on the bank of Brahmaputra river in North Sirajabad area of Palbandha union.
