Rapid Action Battalion on early Saturday arrested three muggers from the city.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, ASP Abdullah Al Mamun of RAB-2 confirmed it on Saturday evening.
They arrested were identified as Arif Hossain,24, md Hasan Gazi alias Babu,20 and Md Mamun Bepari,21.
The elite forced also seized local arms from their possessions.
ASP Mamun said, “ Getting secret information, a team of RAB-2 led by me raided at Basila Metro Housing under Hajaribagh area in the city aroud 6:15 am.”
They were preparing to commit robbery in the area, he added.
During the primary interrogation, the arrested robbers admitted that they were involved in robberies for long times.
In the day, they used to stanch mobile phones, laptop, ornaments and other valuables from the passengers.
But in the night, they used to commit robberies at the residents, he added.
Responding to a question, he said, “ We are conducting drives to arrest the ring leader of the gang.”
A case was filed with the Hajaribagh Police Station in this connection.
