Three killed in road mishaps

Three people including two septuagenarians were killed in two separate road accidents at Sonargaon upazila and Sadar upazila in Narayanganj district on Saturday.

Deceased were identified as Amela Khatun, 70, wife of Abdul Barek, Nurjahan, 65, wife of Fazlur Rahman, the both resident are in Sonakanda village of Meghna upazila in Cumilla district and Jalal, 32, son of Samsul Haq, resident of Kaziatal village of Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla district.

According to Kanchpur highway police station in-charge both old women came to see their newly married granddaughter Sinthiya at Pirozpur area of Sonargaon upazila. The accident occurred at early hours of the day while they were crossing the highway a speedy Dhaka bound bus ran over and both died on 

the spot.

The other accident took place at Shashongaon area in front of BSCIC industrial zone under Fatulla police station when a readymade garments worker named Jalal tried to cross the road and received serious injuries hit by a battery-run auto-rickshaw. The co-workers rescued Jalal and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while he died in undergoing treatment. Two separate criminal cases had been recorded with concern police stations in this regard.
