Three killed in road mishap


Three people, including a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinee, were killed in separate road accidents in Shibganj and Shahjahanpur upazilas of Bogura on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Hanjela, 24, son of Rafiqul Islam from Dewanai Sahapur village, Roni, 18, son of Khairul from Muradpur village and Rabin, 24 hailed from Shajahanpur.

Roni was the HSC examinee of Mohasthan Mahi Sawar Degree College. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj Mokamtola, Sanaton Sarker said when Hanjala and Roni were on way to Mokamtola Bandar, the Pabna-bound stone-laden truck hit their bike, leaving them dead on the spot.

The truck was seized but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene, they added. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindapur Highway Police Station Abdul Quader Jilani confirmed the matter. 

On the other hand, a motorcyclist was killed while a truck ran over him at Shajahanpur area of Bogura. The incident took place at Kamarpara village of the upazila. Rabin was worked at a medicine company. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station Nazim Uddin said Rabin went to his workplace by a motorcycle on Monday. On the way, a mud loaded truck ran over him. He died on the spot. Locals seized the truck. But its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
