Three hundred illegal structures demolished in Jibannagar

Illegally built markets, godowns, small and large business establishments have been removed on the land of Roads and Highways Department in Jeevannagar Bus Stand area of Chuadanga. More than 300 illegal structures were demolished with excavators and hammers. Today Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm Chuadanga Roads and Public Paths Department conducted the evacuation operation.

For several years, unscrupulous people have illegally occupied the land of Souz and set up markets, godowns, small and large business establishments in the bus stand area of Jeevannagar Municipal Area of Chuadanga. Souza authorities list the occupiers.

The evacuation operation started from 10 am on Wednesday. All illegal structures were demolished. Many voluntarily moved their institutions. Souz has 10 bighas of land in Jeevannagar bus stand area. Out of that, 8 bighas of land were occupied by illegal occupants and were conducting business. The illegal eviction operation was conducted by Khulna Zone Estate and Law Officer and Executive Magistrate Anindita Roy, Sahaj Executive Engineer Nazrul Islam along with road department officials and a team of Jibannagar Police Station.

Nazrul Islam, Executive Engineer of Chuadanga Roads and Public Paths Department, said that those who are illegally occupying the road space in the district will be evicted in accordance with the law. The space on both sides of the road has become narrow due to illegal encroachments. Accidents happen because of this. No one will be exempted.
