Three fishing cat cubs were rescued by local people from Bauphal in Patuakhali. But the Upazila Forest Department denied to take the rescued fish tiger cubs.
The rescuers have become helpless because of the negligence of Forest officer to take the cubs.
According to sources, a local person called Md. Rubel Peda rescued three young fishing cat from the cowshed on Friday in Dashpara union. Later he visit upazila forest department to handover those fishing cats but Upazila forest officer Md. Abul Kalam denies to receive them. So he returned to his home with them. Rubel Peda said, “After rescuing the fishing cats I went to the forest department to handover them and they denies to take it. Now I have no liability regarding this young cats.”
Regarding this issue Upazila Forest fficer Md. Abul Kalam said, “ I advised to release those fishing cats from where they catch them. They will return to their mother. If not the Forest Department will rescue them tomorrow.”
