Three ‘drug traders’ arrested with yaba in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on two separate drives detained three drug peddlers from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar district on Saturday, says a press release issued by BCG.

On the basis of secret information, on Saturday evening, BCG members searched a suspicious CNG at Teknaf check post and arrested Md. Abdur Rahim (32) and Mohammad Ismail (22) along with 4,000 yaba tablets.

The two arrested are residents of Sabrang thana in Teknaf. The seized yaba, CNG used for smuggling and the arrested yaba smugglers have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further action.

Meanwhile, in another operation, BCG station Teknaf searched a suspect in Kerry Ghat area and seized 10,000 yaba tablets from his bag. The detainee was identified as Mohammad Osman, 22, son of Nur Hossain, a tribal resident of Jadimura Jinjira area of Teknaf thana.The arrested yaba smuggler was sent to Teknaf Model Police Station for further action.
