Members of Detective Branch of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) arrested three alleged drug peddlers from Terokhadia Poschimpara area in the early hours of Tuesday.
The arrestees have been identified as Manik Ali, 21, son of Abdul Khalek, Arman Hossain Babu, 28, son of late Shariful Islam of Banesshor Thandarpara area and Mohammod Merajul Islam, 22, son of late Mojibor Rahman of Terokhadia area under Rajpara police station of the city.Some 700 gram of banned substance hemp has been seized from the possession of the three, officials said.
Under surveillance of RMP deputy police commissioner Arefin Juwel and direction of additional deputy police commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun, a police team conducted a drive at Terokhadia area, acting on a tip-off, and arrested the trio.
