A three-day International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (ICEEICT 2024) began at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) at Mirpur Cantonment on Thursday.
Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the ICEEICT 2024.
Major General Mohammed Saidul Islam, Commandant of MIST adorned the occasion as Chief Patron.
In this conference, researchers and professionals from academia and industry from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, China, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Bangladesh are participating to share up-to-date knowledge and experience in the fields of Electrical, Electronic Engineering, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Professor Saifur Rahman, IEEE President & CEO 2023 and the Founding Director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, USA and Professor Dr M Moshiul Hoque, Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section, was present in the inaugural ceremony as special delegates from IEEE.
Brig Gen Md Rezaul Awal, Head of the Department of EECE, MIST and Professor Dr Md Hossam-E-Haider were Patron and Conference Chair, respectively.
The closing ceremony of the conference will be held at MIST on May 4. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology, will be the chief guest.
