Three-day drama festival starts at DU

The 3-day 4th Natyotsab organized by Dhaka University Natya Sangshad has started on Sunday, at the Student-Teacher Center auditorium. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the festival as the chief guest on Sunday evening.

Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liakat Ali Lucky addressed the inaugural function presided over by Digar Mohammad Kaushik, President of Natya Sangsad. 

Dr Ahmedul Kabir, Moderator of Natya Sangsad, Dr Rebecca Sultana Riva, Professor of Philosophy, Dhaka University, Md. Saddam Hossain, Student Representative in Dhaka University Senate and Sanwarul Haque Soni, Founder President of Natya Sangsad were present as special guests on the occasion. Natya Sangsad General Secretary Mohammad Nuruzzaman Hossain Sumon officiated.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman wished success to the festival and said that drama is a powerful medium for protesting against communalism, inhumanity and terrorism. He said that people can innovate creative thinking through social and cultural practices. 

The Vice-Chancellor called upon the members of the Natya Sangsad to work for building a non-communal, humane and creative society through drama.It is to be mentioned that in this 3-day long drama festival, 8 plays will be performed by the drama troupes of different public universities including Dhaka University Drama Parliament.
