Tanore thana police arrested three bank robbers and recovered looted goods from their position from Pirojpur area of Tanore on Thursday night.
The arrested robbers were identified as Sajal Ali(22) of Chandan Shahar area under Charghat upazila, Kiron Ali(22) of Meramatpur village of the same upazila and Kishor(19) of Pirojpur village under Tanore upazila. According to sources, Sajal Ali and Kiron Ali were working as Masons in a government project at Billi area under Tanore upazila. There is an agent banking branch of Islami Bank adjacent to the project area. The agent of the branch lived far from the area. The area being solitary, the area turned desolate after the evening. At the dead night of Aug-25, Sajal and Kiron took the iron-cutting saw from the site and included Kishore in their team. They cut open the lock of the door of the agent banking branch but failed to get any money there. Finding no money there, the robbers looted 21 ATM Cards, 22 foreign currencies, some cheque books, computer and the finger print machine and decamped with those things.
Proprietor of Agent Bank Seafur Rahman filed a case with Tanore police station on Tuesday night and the police identified the criminals by using information technology and arrested Sajal Ali from his Chandan Shahar village under Charghat upazila and Kiron Ali from Meramatpur village under the same upazila.
Later, based on the information revealed by the arrested persons, police arrested Kishor from Pirojpur village under Tanore upazila.
Kamruzzman Mia, Officer-in-charge of Tanore PS informed, on Aug-26 night goods of the agent banking branch at Billi Bazar area were looted. The proprietor of the agent banking Seafiur Rahman filed a case with Tanore PS four-day after the incident, Police arrested all four accused from various places of Charghat and Tanore upazilas and were sent to the court at noon of Aug-31.
