RAB has arrested three accused in football match murder case. They were arrested in Sohagpur area of Ashuganj upazila on Monday night.
The arrested are - son of Khorshed Ali of Ghatura area of Sadar Upazila. Kacham Ali, Riyad Mia, son of doctor Ali and Zaman Mia, son of Kacham Ali, of the same area.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Moshihur Rahman Sohel, media officer of RAB-9 Sylhet camp on Tuesday afternoon.
According to RAB, on Friday afternoon on November 3, in the Gautampara area of District Sadar Upazila, there was an argument between Shafiqul Islam Shafiq's cousin Abdullah, who is speech-impaired, and the people of Kacham Ali's side. At one point, a scuffle took place.
As a result, on November 4 last year, around 6:30 in the evening, the people of Kacham Ali found Shafi, son of Dhan Mia Khandkar of Gautampara, alone in front of the Ghatura petrol pump of Sadar Upazila and stabbed him. Later, when the locals rescued him and took him to the hospital, the doctor declared Shafiq dead. In this incident, Shafiq's brother filed a murder case in Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, mentioning the names of four people, making Katcham Ali the main accused.
