Thousands of families in Bogura to get low priced products

Bogura district administration has started distributing TCB products at low prices to 1 lakh 83 thousand 198 families in Bogura. Lentils, soybean oil, sugar and pulses are being sold through 96 dealers designated by Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). Deputy Commissioner Md Ziaul Haque inaugurated the program at Ward No. 3 of the city at 10:30 am on Thursday. 

Additional Superin­tendent of Police Abdur Rashid, District Awami League President Mojibur Rahman Majnu, General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Bogura Municipality Mayor Rezaul Karim Badsha, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Sufian Safiq, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Samar Kumar Pal, Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nurul Islam and District Awami League Office Secretary Al Razi Jewel, Municipal Councilor Lion Kabiraj Tarun Chakraborty were present.  In that ward, 69 card holders will be able to purchase TCB products at a lower price, said the Municipal Councilor Alhaj Sheikh, panel mayor and ward councilor of the municipality inaugurated the sale of goods at the central Eidgah ground in the 9th ward of the city. Notable personalities including social worker Farooq Ahmed Pitu were present at the time. 

In this ward 749 people will get TCB products. At the same time, Municipal Councilor Rezaul Karim Dablu inaugurated the sale of goods in the 5th ward of the city. A cardholder can buy two kg of sugar at Tk 55 per kg, two liters of soybean oil at Tk 110 per kg, 2 kg of pulses at Tk 50 per kg and two kg of lentil pulses at Tk 75 per kg from the mobile truck. 

According to Bogura district administration sources, TCB started selling products against family cards in Bogura for the first time on March 20 in Bogura district. After the beginning, there was a huge response among the needy and low-income people. No one returned because they had the card.

Beneficiaries are happy to get good quality products at lower prices than the market. They said the head of government was giving them products at a lower price, which benefited them. The higher the market price, the better the product at a lower price than TCB. Shahidur Rahman and Dipali Saha, buyers of TCB products, said that they are happy to get TCB products at low prices. In this way they would benefit if the product was sold throughout 

the year. 

Bogra Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Samar Kumar Pal said 26,342 people in Sadar Upazila are getting this facility, out of which 19,372 people in the municipal area can purchase goods through the card. 

Bogra Additional Deputy Commi­ssioner Masum Ali Beg said the sale of the first phase of the product has already been completed smoothly. On the first day of the 2nd phase, TCB products will be sold among 20 thousand 202 families in 29 points of 12 upazilas.
