Thousands of ruling Awami League and the opposition BNP party men from Narsingdi district coming toward the capital city to join their respective political rallies today (Friday).
Both political parties took all out measures to ensure huge crowd in the rallies to show up the strength ahead of the national poll.
Awami League’s three affiliated bodies—Jubo League, Swechchhasebak League and Chhatra League—hired 150 buses to accommodate their party men from Narsingdi to join their joint rally to be held in front of the suth gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
While, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) supporters from the district will join BNP’s grant rally to be held in the capital’s Nayapaltan area on their own means, district BNP sources said.
Narsingdi BNP leaders claimed that thousands of BNP supporters already reached Dhaka and the rest will go today (on Thursday).
Narsingdi Awami League president GM Taleb Hossain said, “Around 10 thousand supporters from the district will join in AL’s ‘Tarunner Joyjatra Samabesh’ in the capital. 150 buses are hired to accommodate more than seven thousand supporters to reach the rally.”
Moreover, additional 2-3 thousand AL supporters will join the rally by their own means, GM Talib claimed.
Narsingdi BNP senior leaders said that more than 10 thousand BNP supporters will join their grand rally today.
“We have issued different instructions to supporters to join the rally. Most of BNP supporters reached capital days before the rally and rest will reached there by today’s morning.” The party leaders claimed.
Narsingdi police also gearing up activities to avert any untoward situation centering the journey to join rallies.
Additional police personnel already deployed in different places including rail station, bus stand in the district, district police sources said.
