It is perturbing to note that some vested quarters are out to tarnish the government’s image in many ways when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has presented Bangladesh to the world community as the role model of peace and development. Under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the country is moving forward with solid footing to achieve the goal of becoming an advanced nation by 2041.

Being benefitted politically, the patrons of the killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, anti-liberation forces and different extremist groups in association with some anti-state vested quarters staying at home and abroad are still busy in plotting to destabilise the country.

After being paid by the BNP-Jamaat clique, these organised vested quarters are now making falsehood and criticising the government deliberately instead of staying beside the people during the coronavirus pandemic.

The people who do not believe in Bangladesh’s independence are out to tarnish the country’s image at home and abroad by hatching conspiracies, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tells a reception accorded to her by the US chapter Awami League at New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott Hotel on Friday. They are the enemies of the country’s people, she added.

We think Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina rightly pointed out that those who tarnish country’s image are people’s enemy as they do not believe in Bangladesh’s independence. Besides, if they have an ideology imbued with spirit of Liberation War, they could never do that for the sake of the country and its people.

It is clear that the anti-liberation defeated forces and the patrons of the killers of Bangabandhu can never accept or laud Sheikh Hasina’s government. They never think about the welfare of the people, rather they always tout power as “a means for enjoyment and making some quick bucks”. Apart from home, some elements staying at abroad are also plotting against the government in many ways in order to tarnish the country’s image.

We all have to remain alert so that none can play ducks and drakes with the fate of the people. the government must go tough on anti-state vested quarters involved in hatching conspiracies and spreading rumours and propaganda immediately to protect the country and its people as well. We believe as long as Awami League remains in power, our country will be continuing to march forward.
