All the government and non-government offices of the country reopened last Sunday after a 66-day general holiday. Most of the officials and employees of almost every ministry were present in the Secretariat on this day. They went to the office wearing masks and following other health rules.

Many ministries have decided to work in two shifts. However, the type of shifts has not been finalized yet. Employees who are far away from home are not required to come to the office. There is a possibility of introducing duty shifts in the ministries in phases.

Bangladesh Shop Owners Association decided to open markets and shopping malls across the country. But even though the markets are supposed to be opened in accordance with the instructions of the health directorate and the restrictions of the law enforcement agencies, many shops are not complying with it.

It is  important to make the people widely

aware of the importance and necessity of

adhering to hygiene and general etiquette

Experts say that maintaining  social distance is a big challenge. Failure to address this challenge will increase the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country.

There is no denying that there is a great lack of awareness among the people of the country, including adherence to general hygiene and health etiquette.

It is important to keep in mind that in order to deal with the corona virus, people around the world are constantly reminded to wash their hands with soap and water, not to touch their face, to follow the etiquette of sneezing and coughing, and to maintain social distance. The big question is whether we can handle this properly.

Negligence can endanger one’s own life. By not adhering to social distancing rules on public transport and in public places and using masks can cause rapid spread of the disease more.

In general, everyone must have this awareness and responsibility. It is important to make the people widely aware of the importance and necessity of adhering to hygiene and general etiquette. Although the government has taken various steps considering the situation, the big question is how much we have become aware of it.
