‘There is huge potential in country’s live stock sector

Brazil Ambassador to Bangladesh Paulo Fernando Dias Feres on Thursday said that there is a huge potential in live stock sector in Bangladesh and It is possible to bring live cows from Brazil to Bangladesh.

“The issue is complicated by the distance. However, it is possible to bring cows to Bangladesh if desired’, the Brazilian envoy said this at a Press conference at National Press Club in the capital. 

Earlier on April 7-8, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira visited Dhaka. At that time, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu requested the Brazilian Foreign Minister to consider whether it is possible to send cows ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Azha.

In July this year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was invited by President Lula to visit Brazil.

Regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Brazil, Ambassador Paulo Fernando said that the Bangladesh Prime Minister will visit Brazil in July before the G20 summit. If she goes to Brazil, the agreements that were not possible during the visit of our foreign minister may be signed.

Paulo Fernando said that there is a huge potential for trade between Bangladesh and Brazil.

The ambassador said that there is an enormous demand for Bangladeshi-made garments in the Brazilian market, and Brazil can be a big market for Bangladeshi RMG products. There is huge scope for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and technology.

On the Rohingya issue, Brazil's ambassador said that the only solution to the Rohingya problem is repatriation. This is the best solution.
