We strongly believe that with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4iR) engagement, Bangladesh will be transformed into ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and will be a hunger and poverty-free smart country by 2041.

The academics and high officials at a seminar on Friday said inclusion of the 4iR in Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (CMSME) can be the best way of accelerating and strengthening economy in the region. Integrated efforts of all government and non-government organisations, businessmen and entrepreneurs have become indispensable for attaining the cherished goal by overcoming the existing challenges.

The 4iR knocks at our door like other foreign countries across the globe. Therefore, all particularly our youths will have to go ahead in line with the latest innovations in science and technology.

As the digital era is characterised by technology, this will increase the speed and breadth of knowledge turnover within the economy and society. The 4iR is coming and in this era of technology, the efficiency of people will also increase manifold. We believe our country has that capability as it has already implemented ‘Digital Bangladesh’.

Our youths will have to go ahead

 in line with the latest

innovations in science and

technology

In the process of adopting the 4iR technologies, Bangladesh has recently achieved significant growth in various sectors, including the IT services industry as well as the healthcare services. We all, particularly our educated and qualified youths will have to get prepared right now in order to take the advantage of the 4iR.

In this regard, the government has already attached importance to artificial intelligence, block chain, internet of things, nano-technology, biotechnology, robotics, microprocessor designing and other areas to lead in the 4iR. As the invention of steam engine, use of electricity and invention of transistor had changed the course of human civilization through massive industrialisation, these three incidents are identified as three industrial revolutions.Like other foreign countries, Bangladesh is also marching towards the 4iR. We must build efficient and skilled human workforce capable of working for the revolution. We are also confident that we will do it using our youths’ talent and utilising their innovative knowledge.

Youths will have to play a vital role in elevating the socio-economic condition of country besides infusing dynamism into its industrial sector. However, there will be many challenges of the 4iR and we have to take preparation to face them competently. We believe the youths will prepare themselves for the days to come as they are our key driving force.
