The second story of the new building of Thakurgaon Press Club built at a cost of Tk 52 lakh was inaugurated in the district on Saturday evening. Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League and MP from Thakurgaon-1 constituency Ramesh Chandra Sen inaugurated the building as the chief guest.
In his speech the MP said, “Under the good rule of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now passing the golden era of free flow of information and it is the responsibility of the media to serve realistic news with the spirit of Liberation War”.
Thakurgaon Press Club President Mansur Ali presided over the event. Among others, Deputy Commissioner Dr KM Kamruzzaman Salim, Additional Deputy Commissioner Noor Kutubul Alam and Zila Parishad Chairman Muhammad Sadek Quraishi spoke at the time. Electronic, print and online journalists of the district were also present on the occasion.
