Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Thakurgaon Dr. KM Kamruzzaman Selim along with various officials of the district administration visited Durga Puja Mandaps in the district on Saturday evening.
They visited some puja mandaps at Thakurgaon municipality. During their visit, they exchanged greetings with the members of the Durga Puja Celebration Committee.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Nur Qutbul Alam, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah-al-Mamun and others.
DC Dr. KM Kamruzzaman Selim expressed satisfaction over the puja being celebrated in all the puja mandaps in accordance with the health rules and directed all to celebrate Durga Puja in accordance with the health rules till the last day of the puja.
He said that Bangladesh is great of example of communal harmony. Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, is being celebrated in Thakurgaon and other parts of the country peaceful. The administration is providing necessary support for Durga Puja celebration.
