A textbook distribution festival-2023 was held at Khulna Government Women High School in Khulna city on Sunday morning as part of the government's effort of reaching new books to the students on the first day of the New Year.
Additional divisional commissioner Md Shahidul Islam attended the Textbook distributio0n festival as chief guest.
Chaired by Khulna deputy commissioner Yasir Arefin, additional deputy commissioner of KMP Md Sazid Hossain, director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Khulna zone Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, deputy director ASM Abdul Khaleque addressed the function as special guests.
District Education Officer Ruhul Amin delivered the welcome speech.
Around 19.11 lakh students of primary, secondary and madras level schools under Khulna division received 2 crore 62 lakh and 62 thousand books and 2 lakh 58 thousand 263 students of primary, secondary and madras level schools under Khulna district received 33 lakh 79 thousand new books today.
The students were seen very happy after getting new books on the first day of the year and we have kept five percent books as buffer stock for meeting any deficit and for the newly admitted students, Sheikh Harun said.
