Three people have gang-raped a teenage girl who lost her way in the Double Mooring Police Station area of Chattogram. Police have arrested three people on charges of being involved in the incident.
The arrested are Mehedi Hasan Munna (19), Md. Shakib (21), Hasan Tareq Rony (40).
Chattogram District Double Mooring Police Station OC Abul Kashem Bhuiyan said this on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, a 14-year-old girl went to a hospital with her relatives in Agrabad area of Chattogram city on September 5. On their way home from the hospital, they got on the bus. At one point on the bus, the girl became estranged from her relatives. The girl started crying in front of Akhtaruzzaman Center in Agrabad area as she did not know her home. At this time a person wants to know the reason for crying.
Police further said that on learning of the incident, the man took the girl to his house and took her to a house in Beribadh area of Sitakunda. Later that night, the accused raped the girl. The next day, on condition of intimidation and not telling anyone about the incident, the accused dropped the victim near her house in Mansurabad area of Chattogram city.
A few days after the incident, the teenager started shouting when she saw one of the accused rapists in Mansurabad area on Thursday. The accused was later arrested through locals. He was later handed over to the police. Police arrested two more persons on the basis of the confession given by the accused at that time. Double Mooring Police Station OC Abul Kashem Bhuiyan said the girl's sister had filed a case against three people in connection with the rape.
