A 15-year-old boy was killed in a road accident at Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place around 12:00 PM on the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway near Budhanti Bus Stand area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Imran, 15, son of Taher Mia, a resident of the same upazila in the district.
According to locals, a speedy vehicle hit Imran while he was returning home from Madhabpur, leaving him seriously injured on the spot.
Later, locals rescued him from the spot and took him to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex where on duty-doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Confirming the matter, Khatihata Highway Police Station sub-inspector Asif said that the victim’s family did not wish to file a complaint.
They submitted a request for burial without post-mortem examination, which was approved following legal procedures, the police official said.
The body has been handed over to the family later, the SI added.
