A teenage boy was electrocuted at Kamarjuri in Gazipur on Friday night.
The deceased boy was identified as Hasan, 15, son of Mantu Miah of Hossainpur Purbapara area under Mithamin police station in Kishoreganj.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police's Basan Police Station OC Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said Hasan used to live in Akhter Market in Kamarjuri area of Gazipur City Corporation.
Hasan was visiting the Adepasha Thakurbari Public Durga Temple under Basan Police Station. While visiting the puja Mandap, he became entangled in the electric wires and was electrocuted.
Locals rescued him and took him to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
