The body of 15-year-old Mohammad Rakib was found by police in a sugarcane field in Thakurgaon, five days after he had been reported missing.
The body was found on Thursday afternoon in the Hariharpur area of Rahimanpur Union under Sadar Upazila.
The incident was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Sarowar Alam Khan of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station.
Rakib was the son of Rafiqul Islam from Master Para in the Thakurgaon Road area.
Police were dispatched immediately upon receiving the report, and the body was sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination. OC Khan stated that it is believed to be a case of murder, and legal proceedings are underway. An abduction case filed by the family will now be treated as a murder case.
