A 15-year-old boy allegedly raped a four-year-old girl in Kharkhori area of Rajshahi city on Wednesday.
The victim was to Once Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) with profuse bleeding.
A case was filed accusing the juvenile, a student of class nine, with Chandrima Police Station on Wednesday evening but he had gone into hiding since the incident.
According to locals and police, at around 11-30 am the incident of rape occurred but the family members of the victims informed police about the incident around 5-30 pm and she was also admitted to OSCC after several hours of the incident of rape.
Sirajum Munir, Officer-in-charge of Chandrima Police Station said, father of the girl went to work (pulling van) leaving her at home in the morning and her mother also went outside of the house for some jobs.
Finding the girl alone at home, the juvenile raped her and escaped the area soon after the incident. At noon, mother of the child returned home and found her with bleeding profusely. She was taken to a local doctor who confirmed the incident of rape and referred her to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
The child was admitted to RMCH’s Once Stop Crisis Centre.
Dr Saiful Ferdous, Director of RMCH said, condition of the four-year-old child is stable. Police were trying to catch the perpetrator, OC Munir said.
