Teacher training begins at SU

A 10-week long ‘Teacher Training Program Certificate in University Learning and Teaching’ began on the permanent campus of Southern University. The training programme is being held in a bid to enhance the quality of higher education. Dr. Mark Bartholomew, a former director of the British Council and academic adviser of Southern University, will train teachers to achieve international and qualitative education in a variety of academic disciplines.

The 10-week training programme will initially involve teachers in groups A and B.The training started yesterday with 'A' group comprising 17 teachers from all categories. The training program for the 'B' group will begin from September 29. The teachers will be trained primarily to attain qualitative and international standards in various fields including English skills, teaching techniques, learning outcome, assessment system, curriculum design and self-assessment.
