Teacher-parent coordination essential to improve edn quality

Speakers say at parents’ meeting

A parents’ meeting and opinion-sharing session was held at Chikdair High School in Raozan, Chattogram, to discuss students’ academic progress, discipline and ways to improve the quality of education.

An introductory meeting for members of the school’s ad hoc committee was also held on the occasion.

The meeting was held at 11am on Tuesday (August 25) at the school auditorium, with Head Teacher Kazi Mohammad Elias in the chair. The programme began with recitations from the Quran by Sheikh Mohammad Abir and from the Gita by Barsha Shil.

Dr Abu Tayeb Russell, chairman of the school’s ad hoc committee, attended the meeting as the chief guest.

Senior teacher Mohammad Ayub Master, Maulana Abdul Haque, Nobel Kumar Naha, Priyam Kumar De, school donor member Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Jubo Dal leader Rafiqul Islam Bacha, district Jubo Dal joint general secretary M Masud Alam, parent member Mohammad Shahidul Islam and Syed Hasan Gofran spoke at the meeting, jointly moderated by teachers Dildar Hossain and Panna Dutta.

Teachers Sathi De, Abu Jafar Saleh, Takrima Akter, Jui Khatun, Sourav Barua and Nurul Amin, among others, as well as teachers and parents of the school, were present.

The speakers said teachers and parents must work together to ensure not only good academic results but also the development of students’ morality, discipline and human values.

They also urged parents to be more attentive to ensuring that students attend school regularly and remain focused on their studies. #EK
