A college teacher of Rajabari Degree College under Godagari upazila was arrested for allegedly molesting and violating modesty of two girl students in a coaching centre in Mohisbathan area of Rajshahi city on Tuesday.
The arrested teacher has been identified as Ahaduzzman Nazim (37), also a resident of Bhatapara area of the city. He runs a coaching centre, 'Nazim Private Centre', in the area.
According to the complaints of two tenth graders, Ahaduzzman Nazim violated the duo on Tuesday. However, police arrested Nazim on Saturday night. A case has been filed against him in this connection.
It has been known that Ahaduzzaman Nazim was a lecturer of Marketing at Rajabari Degree College under Godagari upazila. He used to teach his students English subject at his coaching centre.
It was alleged by the students that Nazim molested girl students of his coaching centre several times. Most of the girl students stopped attending the coaching centre after facing unwanted circumstances.
But, two girl students informed their parents about the incident. As a result, their guardians handed over Nazrim to police. Officer-in-Charge of Rajpara Police Station, Majharul Islam, said that Nazim violated modesty of the two students on Tuesday afternoon and tried to take those two girl students to a secret place. But, the girls refused to go anywhere with him and returned their houses. Those two students later informed their parents and guardians of other students about the incident and jeopardy they faced due to Nazim.
Protesting the incident, guardians of some girl students along with locals cordoned off the coaching centre on Saturday evening. Later they informed the police about the incident. On information, police personnel went to the spot and took Nazim to the police station. On Sunday morning, he was placed before the court. The court sent him to the jail.
